I'll be going alone and as a female lone camper I'm a bit concerned about the camping alone bit & safety , even tho I no glasto has a good track record. Any tips or advice, 'cos I don;t want to return my ticket.

How come you're going on your own? Umm, not sure what to suggest other than making friends with your neighbours, I'm sure they'll make you feel welcome. I know us lot would

Hi Freebird,
I'm in a similar boat - I'll be there by myself... None of my friends
bothered getting registering after they heard about the headliners.
Bit different for me though as I'm a bloke - I don't really mind the
being
alone part so much but I hope to make friends either on here before
I
go or when I get there :)

For the record...going to Glastonbury alone is absolutely the best way to enjoy the experience. You can please yourself totally with all the different performances, or just relax and watch the world and his wife go by. The majority of people are friendly, and like the wind, you can blow any which way you care too without everybody having to consult and waste precious time. It's also great to make new connections ( the rare times it's not so great, well you have a huge crowd to duck into!)
For instance, the posters above who are going alone, immediately you all become connected in someway, meet up and have a smoke/drink/chat. As for advice to females camping alone, I would agree with the suggestion of getting to know the campers around you and also the stewards, maybe camping in the family field would be allowed?
Good luck anyway, and my departing advice to all and sundry is this...Be your own best friend, but remember to treat others as you would wish them to treat you.

Hi Freebird, SP4 and Joe,
I am also going alone similarly, my friends did not pre register, not sure they were convinced by the line up but hey its my first time!, so i'm going! so I would be happy to mingle with any one here going solo.
As a single female, my concerns like you freebird are the sleeping arrangements, so, would be great to hang out with any like minded friendly festival goers.
cheers

I went back in 2005 and found that everyone was really friendly and I cant imagine you will have any problems.
This year I am going with my sister and if any of you fancy pitching your tent with us you are more than welcome. Feel free to give me a shout and we can arrange a meetup nearer the time.

This all sounds great & feel so much better about going if a group of us can pitch together. What's the best way to make sure we can do this & arrange a meet up?
Don't know why people were put off by the line up anyway - it's not just about the headliners is it?. I'm really looking forward to get cape wear cape fly.
