I've checked out those halfords tents betsy was on about - very good deal indeed! Just about everything you need... Those quick pitch tents seem a good idea too like

I know I can't afford a tipi - but its always something to work towards

So where abouts are you coming from glitterybee?

Really, hmmm maybe i should take a look at those too......haha surely it can't be that hard to pitch a tent!?

I'm coming from cumbria or the lake district, whatever you know it as. It's a fairly long way. How far have you got to go?

I don't think i've ever pitched a tent - but i'm with you... Really how hard can it be? And if all else fails, could always sleep under the stars

Im coming from the North East, about 40 miles south of Newcastle... The trip down should be fun in itself really!

Yep works for me! As long as there's no rain that is  I did try and put up a tent once, it was pretty bad! In the end i got someone to do it for me, so i really think its gonna have to be a quick pitch!

Journey down will be good, tho i'm thinking it might be a good idea to sleep a lil bit cos i don't think i'll be getting much at glasto!

Sleep is rare at Glastonbury. Last year I probably only got 20 hours of serious sleep over the week, which is not bad compared to previous years. However by Sunday it does leave you a tad fried, so if you've got a long journey back on the Monday or the weather turns to sh*te, try to get some decent kip on the Sunday if possible.

hi piggin-mud, it sounds like you must be close to me as I'm in Darlington and thats about 40 miles south of Newcastle.

Sleeping under the stars would be ok if it was a) unlikely to rain and b) was not the danger of being stepped on by people staggering back to their tents!!!!

Hello!

I'm a latecomer to this thread but I've found it reassuring. Basically my friend and I were planning to go together but she's no longer able to. Haven't bought my ticket yet so there's still a huge chance I may not even be able to go. But I googled "going glastonbury alone" and this thread came up. Just wanted to ask would I really be okay going alone as a 20 year old girl who's never been to a festival before?

Cx
